BEFORE YOU START — READ THIS
- You must already hold Berserk Grade 1. This chain does not open until the Level 95 chain is finished.
- You cannot enter the Test Arena while wearing a Job outfit.
- Have free inventory space before talking to Ratchel — the Traps of Eradication cannot be handed over if your inventory is full, and you cannot take the test without them.
- Dying in the Test Arena ends the test immediately. You get teleported back to Ratchel after 15 seconds. Ask for a fresh set of traps before retrying.
- Bring about 20 Resplendent Crystals before you travel to the Gate of Cleopatra. Each one is consumed on use and the excavation can fail.
- The Underworld Spirit can only be damaged while you are in Berserk mode.
- You cannot start the ritual with a trade transport summoned. Dismiss your transport first.
- The ritual has a time limit — you get a warning 5 minutes before it expires.
- Steps 3 and 4 send you across the sea. Roc Mountain, the Yeoha fields and Karakoram are all on the Chinese continent — plan one long trip instead of several.
WALKTHROUGH
Step 1 — Military Test 2 (Europe)
- Go to General Ratchel in Constantinople, who offers the second army test.
- Accept, then talk to Ratchel again when you are ready.
- Ratchel gives you Traps of Eradication — make room in your inventory first, or the handover is refused.
- Take off any Job outfit and choose "Enter the Test Arena".
- Inside there is 1 officer — the Military Chieftain (Lv.100, 1,666,275 HP) — plus Military Sergeons (Lv.95) that spawn to interrupt you.
- Use the Traps of Eradication during the fight; that is what they are for.
- You win by either:
- Killing the Military Chieftain within 10 minutes, or
- Surviving the full 10 minutes
- If you die the test ends and you return to Ratchel in 15 seconds. Ask for a new supply of traps, then retry.
- After passing, talk to Ratchel again.
Step 2 — New Challenge (Europe)
- Ratchel explains that joint research between the European and Chinese armies produced a formula for a pill that enhances Ultra-Berserk.
- The army keeps the formula, but you have to supply the ingredients. The key one is the Piece of underworld Spirit.
- Go to the Sunset Witch in Constantinople.
Step 3 — Branch of life (Europe)
- The Sunset Witch can open the gate to the nether world, but she needs a Living Flame to pull a spirit through. The Living Flame takes two ingredients: the Branch of Life and the Relic of Sun God.
- Travel to Roc Mountain and hunt Goat (Lv.76) and Shaur (Lv.75) until you get the Energy of mountain.
- Now find a Yeoha or Decayed Yeoha (Lv.10) — the tree monsters on the Chinese continent.
- Use the Energy of mountain on the Yeoha. This refines its sap into the Branch of Life.
- Target anything else and you get "That item cannot be used on the selected monster."
- Bring the Branch of Life back to the Sunset Witch.
Step 4 — Relic of Sun God (Europe)
- The Relic of Sun God was lost at the site of the last ceremony held by the Sun God's worshippers — in Asia Minor, near the Gate of Cleopatra.
- The relic attracts light, so you need something that shines brightly to find it: the Resplendent Crystal.
- Hunt Ishade (Lv.51) and Hashade (Lv.52) in Karakoram — the icy roads — and collect the crystals.
- Each crystal is consumed on a single use, so gather around 20 before you set off.
- Travel to the Gate of Cleopatra and use the Resplendent Crystals there. Anywhere else you get "You cannot use the Resplendent Crystal here."
- Excavation can fail — "You have failed to excavate the Relic of Sun God. Please try again." Just use the next crystal.
- Once you have the Relic of Sun God, bring it to the Sunset Witch.
Step 5 — Spirit of underworld (Europe)
- With the Branch of Life and the Relic of Sun God, the Sunset Witch can build the Living Flame. Talk to her, then talk again once she has prepared the ritual.
- She hands you the Orb of Spirit — without it you cannot see the soul.
- Dismiss any trade transport and choose "Begin the ritual".
- An Underworld Spirit (Lv.95, 113,162 HP) is drawn out of the gate.
- You must be in Berserk mode to damage it. Only when the two spirit powers collide can you break a fragment off it.
- Kill it to obtain the Piece of Spirit of underworld. A warning appears 5 minutes before the ritual expires.
- If you fail, run the ritual again.
Step 6 — Another Increment (Europe)
- Take the Piece of Spirit of underworld to General Ratchel in Constantinople.
- Ratchel makes the enhanced pill. Choose "Eat the pill".
- Done.
